O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree

Here's a picture of our tree that's been up since Thanksgiving.  We like to keep it up as long as possible.  We have so many ornaments already, but I want to weed some of the 'junk' ones out and keep only those that are significant in some way.  If that means giving away a huge pile, I'm fine with that.  I made a few ornaments myself this year, and I hope that I can continue this.  My favorites are the ones that my husband and I made ourselves when we were younger.  They really make the tree special!

I'll do a quick post later about some of the ornaments I've made this season :)

No-Joe Latte

My favorite Starbucks drink lately has been an Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte.  Yes, iced.  That's really the only way I drink it, even in the cold winter months!  The latte costs about $4 every time I get it, so I thought I would take a break on coffee for a while.  I really don't NEED it, right?  Anyways, I saw this recipe in a magazine and have been loving it!! Warning: It's coffee-free (hence the name).

It's so nice to drink right now because it gets you in the Christmas spirit!  I love putting cinnamon in everything lately.  It's just so festive.  Speaking of that, the Gingerbread scented oil from Bath and Body Works is amazing!  I am loving it this month.  Back to the drink, it has just the right amount of flavor and I will probably be making this for myself and everyone else who comes to visit us this season.  The best part is that you can adjust it pretty much anyway you want.  Enjoy!

The way I make it:

Serves 2

2 cups milk (I use almond or soy milk- Dairy=acne for me)
1-2 tbsp sugar-your choice of regular granulated or brown
Dash of vanilla
Cinnamon
Caramel drizzle
Whipped Cream

Whip milk, sugar, and vanilla w/whisk (or whatever) until slightly foamy in a mug.
Microwave for about 1 and 1/2 min to 2 min. depending on how hot you like your drinks.
Top with whipped cream, cinnamon, and caramel drizzle.
Drink!

You can also garnish the drink with cocoa powder or cinnamon sugar instead.

OOTD

We went furniture shopping today-not fun at all when you come home empty handed!  We had to have gone to about 10 stores searching for the perfect sofa and love seat.  It seems impossible at this point, and we are currently sitting on a stack a pillows in our living room!  Something needs to happen, and fast.  Oh well....
Here is what I wore to sit on a bunch of couches:

Essie's Borrowed and Blue

I absolutely LOVE Essie nail polishes.  They are hands down, my favorite nail polish brand.  I have heard Butter London makes great quality polishes, but I'm not ready to dish out the $14 per bottle for them.

I went to Ulta to look for this color and  I got the very last one!  It was meant to be.  It's more blue on my nails than in the bottle, but it's still a refreshing shade (I have been living in nude-pinks).

Oh, I have been trying to drink more water lately (I swear I say this to myself at least 4 times a month!) so I snuck the Dasani bottle in there.  Fancy, right?

Enjoy your day!

OOTD: Work Edition

This is a simple, yet put together look for work.  I'm supposed to wear a polo with my employer's logo on it, but I just can't help myself sometimes!!  I love putting outfits together, I feel more confident throughout the day.  I think it makes me work harder...this is understandable, right?
